Today I went to the school where my new job would be at. I went there for the class observation prior to my first day at work which was slated on next monday. Honestly, as i entered the class full of around 15 three to four-year-olds, this flashing *what was i thinking* sign popped up in my head. Then i sat there and observing the interaction between those children and the teacher. Despite all the inevitable noise caused by the easily distracted students, they were undoubtedly adorable. Maaan, never in my life have i thought about dealing with all these toddlers!! It needs a special skill called passion. I was also involving my self to do the active teachers a favor to sit a boy and get him to do some paper craft. Hard work! This thing is totally new for me and i decided to do this anyway so i forced myself to focus on the bright sides of this job. They include new experience, skill and learning to take care of my own child in the future! It sounds crazy i know but i still want to try, plus i will get longer holidays compared to if i still work at a regular office, that is what i'm mostly looking forward to. Considering i will miss doing journalism work for a while, thus i expect to blog more often than before since i do not want to waste my writing routine. Anyways, the pic above was what i wore to the school.

I finally decided to re-join the gym after three years of hiatus. Err, not really a total absence though since I must count bicycling as a form of exercising as well. During my early days back in Jakarta in 2008 I used to go anywhere by bike and the bonus I got from the activity was a pair of strong and firm legs. I even honestly did not detect any cellulite marks on my thighs at the time. Basically, I love exercises involving legs such as bicycling, walking and running. However, I prefer fast walking than running though. The only time I (meant to) seriously jog in the past three years was in this event called Jakarta 5 K, where we jogged for five kilometers along the city main street. The organizer of the event was the US embassy and I was invited to join it by a US-national friend. I truly admire the strength of my American friend who was able to run the entire way non-stop!! No wonder though as she was very fit, jogs almost daily and very discipline in doing yoga. Unfortunately, I could not jog the entire event as I got tired easily so yeah I was left behind, together with a number of my fellow sluggish participants haha. We still managed to get through the finish line though, by fast walking off course. Anyway, I haven’t started my new job yet so I have been taking advantage of this me times by going to the gym, watching TV, coloring my nails and blogging :P . I took these photos today as I am currently in love with my new leather belt from ASOS. I paired it with ZU leather oxford brogues, Dickies skinny jeans and Ally t-shirt. I know the photo quality is bad since I took it from my cell phone camera :P.

Here I am sitting at Starbucks in Yogyakarta, the city where I went to the Uni to since 2004 to 2008. Long story short I decided to move back here from the Indonesian capital Jakarta to end my incessant complaints and stresses over the city in which I inhabited for the past three years. Yes, I totally dared to get out of my comfort zone, resigning from my good-earned job as a journalist just to find fresh air since I could not take it anymore to breathe Jakarta’s terribly polluted air due to crazy traffic. Not only just I executed the idea of moving but I also applied for a position as a teacher at an English-speaking kindergarten in Yogyakarta. Though the new job seemed overlapping my previous job---totally different even--- I didn’t care. I see this as a totally new experience for me and I hope to vary my curriculum vitae in the future :P. Barista? checked, journalist & news writer? checked, kindergarten teacher? will be checked :D However, the other factor which boost my confidence to move back in Yogyakarta was the chance to re-unite with my boyfriend whom I have been with for the last four years!! Yay for no longer constrained in the long distance relationship. I admitted that I faced some fear of stepping out of my comfort zone, but all those fears were instantly swept by my determined mind after I did this back in Australia: skydiving!!!!

Yes, I finally did it as a birthday present from my friend Xeron in Australia,, that was the craziest thing I had done in my 25-years of living in this world haha. I had always wanted to try skydiving and to experience jumping off a plane from the minimum height of 10,000 feet, and luckily I landed safely in Canberra ground :P Until now, I still remember the mixed feeling of fear, confidence and excitement as I was about to jump off that small plane but I just did it anyway and it felt soooo veryyyy good. In the end, it felt like you left your fear behind you and just follow wherever the wind takes you. The experience made me so much ready to face challenge in the future. I know it sounds cheesy but that was exactly what I saw at the time :D To those of you who have a healthy heart and mind, you should try it once, hell, I can’t wait for my next jump haha. While we’re at the “jumping” topic, I’d like to share the pictures of kangaroo and other animals that I saw in Western Australia.

Whoaaa, almosssttttt one year since I logged into my blog, now I deserve to be labeled as a slacker blogger :P never mind though, I’m alive here, thank God. Now is Sunday and I kinda have this love hate relationship with Sundays. I love Sunday as I realize that I still have a chance to slacking off in my room or go to a salon or a restaurant, just to pamper my own self. And I hate Sunday for being the annoying reminder that I only have several hours time left before Monday! UGH..by the way weekends are also my absence period of coffee drinking. Thus, coffee is one of my motivations to start another week especially next week coz next Friday I was slated to fly out of the city, to Yogyakarta, one hour from Jakarta. Buuuttt, due to the natural disaster that is Mt. Merapi volcano eruption, and since all airlines cancelled their flights to Yogyakarta, I am facing the cancellation as well, NOOOO T_T … I meant to see my boyfriend over there too, but anyway safety always has to come first. However, I still hope that the deadly volcanic activities will soon stop so the people of Yogyakarta can resume their life as before the disaster hit. One can only wish though. Sending them my good thoughts and love...

Soo, today I and my sister had our lunch at an Italian restaurant nearby where I live and I managed to take a pictures of me and my metal butterfly ring :D

Wow, it has been two weeks in December without Friday at work yay!!!! Look forward to this Friday of course to make it three... By the way I spent the last long weekend out of the city, back to the last city I had lived for three years since 2004, it was so much fun to meet some of my old friends, brought back old memories. I also met my boyfriend whom I had not met in around four months or so :D and he accompanied me on a flight back to Jakarta and planned to spend the New Year’s eve here. What a holiday... I bet you guys also have incredible holidays out there with snow and everything in your place :P However, rain keeps pouring on every evening here since last week which prevents me to go out so I have been killing most evenings with watching movies or reading ‘1984’ by George Orwell which is quite the positive side though, keeps me off of my wallet haha.. And I rarely blogging these days although I still got connected to the internet only for the matter of working, yeah updated media job 

Anyway, below is the picture of me wearing a vintage paisley dress that I grabbed from my Grandma’s cupboard few months ago, luckily she allowed me to keep it hehehe I combined it with a Doc Martens boots and a cardigan and a vintage yellow drape.

So here i am back to my blog again after such a long absence period due to the inevitable loads of work...it feels soo good to meet with Friday again after such a busy real-life week.. just a few minutes ago i just sent an email to my manager due to the order of the big boss who wanted to know what his employees would see themselves doing in two years from now on.. Gosh, what a leap.. i couldn't even see myself yet for 2010, which is only several days ahead, so it took me quite long to figure out what i want after 2010.. then i wrote that I'd like to see me finishing my thesis to achieve a master degree which I'd get from scholarship given by an overseas university, but if it's not happening then I'd like to see myself working in an office with better payroll than i do now haha, i hope my boss wouldn't fire me after reading that. :P

how about you guys? what would you like to see yourself doing in two years from now?

I finally had Luwak coffee/Civet coffee for the first time in my life last week. A work mate brought a package of the most expensive coffee and she shared with the whole office, how nice of her. The scent of the coffee was undoubtedly delicious and so was the taste. I don’t mind to experience it again in the future. However, here is some info about Luwak coffee: Kopi Luwak (pronounced [ˈkopi 'luak]) or Civet coffee is coffee made from coffee berries which have been eaten by and passed through the digestive tract of the Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) and other related civets. The civets eat the berries, but the beans inside pass through their system undigested. This process takes place on the islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali and Sulawesi in the Indonesian Archipelago, in the Philippines (where the product is called Motit Coffee in the Cordillera, or Kape Alamid in Tagalog areas) and in East Timor (locally called kafé-laku). Local lore in Vietnam has given the name "weasel coffee" to civet coffee, in what is considered the closest recognizable translation to English. (source: Wikipedia)

The above quotation was derived from the latest book that I’ve just finished reading, Fire in the Blood by Irene Nemirovsky,, such an easy-reading book but at the same time I couldn’t wait to turn to the next page… a narrative by Sylvestre who felt he has lost his self following his aging.. He found himself stranded at a French village with secluded characters of its residents who tend to be indifferent about other people’s lives… until a scandal which involved people close to Sylvestre and himself was revealed… the book also depicts the French village setting prior to World War II through its residents characters… I assure you it’s a worth reading piece of art :D

The interesting fact about the book is the uncompleted scripts of the book were found after the author, Irene Nemirovsky, was taken to Nazi's Auschwitz camp and died there in 1942.

Hai, guys.. i'm so sorry for lack of updates... i've been very busy working and for this week only i have to arrive at the office at 6 AM since i got the turn for morning news publishing shift.. i have to make sure all latest news be published everyday in this week... lucky me :D

Can you see the random drawing on my dress? I found it funny which stimulated my hand to grab and brought it home from a boutique two months ago :D and I wore it for the second time last Saturday when I was out and about with an old friend at a mall.

At first, I was only intended to catch up with my friend, watch movie, have chit chats and good foods but I ended up a bit of shopping ;P as I saw a pretty tunic, tried on a partly-sequined top and a number of interesting scarfs, including these two Alexander McQueen-like skull scarf as seen in below pic (in which I eventually picked the red-and-white one though I was still thinking about the purple one until I got up of my sleep on Sunday ;S ).
Luckily last Saturday was a day after my payday so I didn’t really regret of spending budget on such unplanned needs ;D

Oh, and at the moment i'm listening to the latest Weezer's album "Raditude" on my ipod, the tracks are easy listening and if you like Weezer then it's a must check out :D have a nice day everyone..

A friend in Australia sent me her pictures of Halloween costumes yesterday and I was kind of excited to see her dress and red contact lenses!! I thought they were fierce, not to mention the hot Mary Jane heels, so I’d like to share her pics as follow..

her email kinda inspired me to dig my old wardrobe and i found a lolita dress/suit from around two years ago when I was still at Uni. A Japanese friend sent me the Lolita suit consisted of a ruffled skirt and a long-sleeve lacey shirt along with the skull-printed long socks straight from a Harajuku shop in Tokyo for my birthday gift!! I was soooo excited since I had wanted a piece of lolita dress long long time before i finally have it…I thought I would wear it in a Halloween party but in fact I have never worn them until now….so here goes, oh and i also combined with the Mary Jane Doc Martens and a black-and-white checkered tie :D

I reckon this is much fun, what's your idea for Halloween costume? :D

I just saw this pic on jak&jil blog today during my lunch hour and i was like OMG.. i NEED that hair color... gorgeous color... but then i had no clue what that color is called? plain red? or something else? then i googled and found similar color on some girls' hair, they call it dark copper? is it true? pardon my mediocre english then.. but i need to find that color on some salon and dye it on my hair. So is it really dark copper? can you help me with this please? but then again my natural hair color is black so i am not really sure that it will blend well with my black hair argh,..i'm in love :P any thoughts on this hair color?

First thing first, i must say i looveee weekends , saturday and sunday are like my favorite days of week, who doesn't anyway.. but hey, when i was in Uni, i hate Sundays because i didn't have anything to do and turned dry whenever Sundays come..i spent this Saturday sleeping, watching Inglourious Basterds, eat good foods and sleeping again...until Sunday.. i felt really free as i can totally be my self in the two days..but there is one time every month on Sunday that i must work*sigh* from 12 to 5 PM and posting weekend news since working in media requires you to be up to date as to publish news on daily basis. although i'd get extra pay for the Sunday work, i still feel that i've missed part of my two-days freedom :P
Anyway, i bought this long cardigan from a local clothing brand two months ago and i just got the chance to wear it this past Friday, i like the style of it but as i wore it with the belt attached to it, i felt silly like i just stepped out of the bathroom with my bathrobe!!! so i tried other styling like replacing the so-called belt with the real one.. but in the end i preferred to lay off the belt :P

I wore a checkered dress on busy Monday work, i've got some extra works left from my last absence which i had to finish yesterday :D yay lucky me..not ;P btw the other pics show another checkered clothing i wore at work some weeks ago, i have been collecting this kind of shirt or whatever have square motif in it since my days at university, was kind of obsessed with old skool boyish style along with suspenders and boots. so sorry for the very lack of updates, more than a week i suppose, thanx to my frikkin fever for four days!! yup i was suffering from fever and flu though i've taken everything like parasetamol, pseudoephedrine, dextromethorphan whatsoever they failed to totally cure my pain ;( it is the changing season from drought to rainy in our country at the moment, what can i say.. last night was the worst period of my fever i had to go to the doctor which i had been avoided since i worried that the doctor may diagnose me infected by the deathly dengue fever ;S regarding a friend of mine has contracted it last week and ended up alive (thank God :D ). Finally, accompanied by my room-mate, i forced my self to go see that doctor. And guess what the doctor saw in me, inflamed esophagus or sore throat --whatever they called it---which has caused my body temperature was between 38-39 Celcius degrees. Thank God once again it was not the dengue :D. And on this Friday i just slouching around on my bed to rest and make sure i take FOUR kinds of prescribed drugs on time ;) and this means long weekend bonus since i had to get absent from work, so i think i may call this situation as bless in disguise :D

So yeah, this is what I did last night, I bought some star embellishment brads as I stepped out of my office, actually just because I failed to find any pyramid ones which I intended to buy initially. So here are the before and after pics of my work :D

I paired the newly-star-studded vest with a batik dress and guess what batik is actually the dress code at my office and other offices throughout Jakarta today—have not yet any ideas bout other cities, but I heard they would set the same code ;P—since UNESCO will officially list batik as part of Indonesia’s cultural heritage this Friday (yay.. we won over Malaysia) well, previously there was a dispute with neighboring country Malaysia as they claimed that Batik is belonging to them while Indonesian people obviously have been imparting their ethnic characters in batiks since ages ago. Malaysia also claimed several Indonesian ethnic cultures to be part of them i.e.: West Javanese Angklung music instrument and Balinese Pendet dance (get real, will ya) ok now PEACE OUT…

heyaaa, i'm now on the fourth day of Islamic Idl Fitri national holiday.. and i have a week of day offs yay... it feels so good to take a retreat from works for a while.. sooo refreshing, laid back..and i have not been in touch with a computer let alone internet for like several days... until now :D i managed to travel out of town--around 12 hours from jakarta, the city i currently live at-- to meet my dad, sister, grand parents, a number of relatives and my boyfriend :S long distance relationship sucks indeed :P but good enough though to stay away of boredom feelings urged by daily basis of meeting intensity imo :P, anyway.. here are some pics i took two days before i left :D i'll be back to my home in jakarta on sunday night, until then have a nice weekend gurrlls,, :D

Hi, guys I just want to share a good story I just found today on Google when my mind was disrupted with the feeling and conclusion that my boss rarely sees good works of mine, instead he is more into exaggerating my mistakes and humiliated me in sarcasm way in front of other work mates. This situation makes me really want to resign of this office which I have been serving for one year and four months. I have given my best to the company but it does not seem to be paid off anytime soon. I accepted every constructive critic. But my good works gained no appreciations. Sometimes it hurts when someone humiliates us and we try so hard to keep steady and avoid any burst of emotion.

How to be classy without being rich

I have a few classy friends who have taught me how to be classy too, because you see, class exudes from their being. Marisa, my life long friend, is one of them. She isn't rich, but she appears to be. Instead, she lives abundantly due to the class that she exudes.

She's the essence of style and grace from her face to her toes, which are always immaculately exposed. She must be the most impeccably groomed soul I've ever known, but it isn't just her face and toes that expose the class act she exudes. Class comes from deep inside her soul.

WHAT MAKES SOMEONE CLASSY?

1. Class always seeks serenity.
Marisa is not one who would ever be rude to you or anyone. She knows how to be serene, no matter how rude you might be and she never loses her dignity. Because of this, Marisa finds peace of mind all the time, no matter where she is or who she is with. It amazes me sometimes to see how peacefully she survives hard times along with any rude or crude people in her life. She's dignified.

2. People with class know how to let go of their ego, consistently, with amazing grace.
People with class don't have to prove anything. They understand the difference between command and demand. They realize that humility doesn't mean that we appear to be invisible, but to be classy, we must find a humble mind that attracts attention to our style. Though she never tries, Marisa commands any room she walks into with her essence of style and grace, not to mention attention.

She once told me that I too received attention when I walked into a room, but now I see the difference between Marisa and me. She commands it while I demand it. It's the same difference between a class act and the class clown that makes Marisa and I stand out in a crowd, but it can be confusing. I had no clue how to be more classy and less amusing, so I tried to pay attention to the attention Marisa receives, beyond me, whenever I'm with her in a crowded room. That's what classy people do. They command attention through dignity and grace, instead of humiliating themselves in a public place.

She graciously smiles and makes you feel comfortable immediately. There never seems to be an ulterior motive for what she says or does. She's simply kind all the time to you and I or anyone she'd meet on any street. That's why I believe that class requires consistency.

3. A person with class knows how to use tact when stating facts.
Do you know those souls who feel the need to tell you the truth about you and what you should do to improve? I suppose we all do that now and then with our family and friends, but if we want to be classy, we need to be less brassy. Some people think that honesty means that they need to slap you in the face with words that are way too frank. They take the truth to a new level that feels homicidal. When the truth hurts someone, it might be more classy to use tact when you state a fact.

Marisa knows how to be tactfully honest with her friends, by what she doesn't say to them, but shows them. If I vent to and with Marisa, she seems to mirror me by listening intently. She doesn't advise, but finds the wise side of me by reflecting what I say in a wiser way. I don't know if I can explain, because you see, I don't seem to have that ability. All I know for sure is the truth always comes to my mind when I vent to Marisa or ask her advice.

Soon, whatever I'd been so mad or sad about begins to shine through different eyes, and suddenly, I begin to see the truth differently. It's just a fact that people with class don't stab you in the back. They relate and reflect back the truth through you, by bringing out the best in you.

4. Class acts require discipline.
Marisa is the most disciplined soul I know. She never bows down to doom and gloom, but holds her head high all the time, and even if she doesn't smile, it seems as if she is. It's all about self confidence. She knows, deep in her soul, that whatever happens, it will be her disciplined mind that saves her hide and it does, every time.

She's like the rest of us and runs into bad people, things and happenings now and then, but she knows how to use self discipline to survive while some of us remain victims for life. She disciplines herself every day, by not reacting to what people do or say. She simply mirrors your view through a more disciplined view which tells her mind to be patiently kind.

5. When someone inspires the best of you to be seen, that's a classy human being.

You know, we human beings have a hard time letting go of our egos and admitting that someone else has a quality that we'd like to have ourselves, but don't. I suppose that's why I wrote this article today about my classy friend, Marisa. It's a classy thing to do, I believe. After all, that's what Marisa would do for me.

TO CONCLUDE:

My classy friend would graciously shine her dignified light on me, even though it might be she who needs the boost. That's what classy people do. They do and say things that bring out the class in other human beings. They treat others the way they'd like to be treated, and the result becomes new and improved classy human beings with dignity and grace, who command attention when they walk into a room. Classy human beings teach us how to be classy too, which brings me to a classy way to conclude.

I finally see that the epitome of a classy human being is one who shines the light that comes from inside an attitude of gratitude. That's why I'm grateful to my classy friends and Marisa is just one of them.

on Saturday and Sunday i went to this yard sale held in one place near my home, err most of the sold items were 100% new :P...a number of boutiques and online shops take part in it. vintage clothes, handmade shoes (!!) and jewelry, everything was fab...:D and the price was so much fun :P had a good time there

i went to a topshop store last week and i found these two moccasins which are similar to those listed on its online store and i was sooo infatuated at the time until now, i really need to grab one--or both, which is no way, otherwise i'd be starving at the end of the month--.. but i couldn't until my next payday :P and i will only have to pick one of them.. well so far, my feelings told me the studded one is cooler... but what do you think? which one do you prefer ? :D

i had longan sometimes ago, it tastes very sweet and everytime i had my first bite, i couldn't stop until i feel really full :P we have many interesting variety of tropical fruits here which i rarely able to resist whenever they are provided in front of me such as mango, mangosteen, starfruit, guava, durians, etc...---now they make me hungry, i'm fasting at the moment---and they contain great nutritions, well i bet not everybody like durians esp when it comes to their strong scent haha :D so what kind of tropical fruits do you like?

oh my,, it's not that i'm a worshipper of floral tops but i did not even remember when i bought these flowery thingies..it's been long long time ago since i wore this floral top last time, and this morning i found it slipped between other clothes in wardrobe..so yeah, who cares anyway i just mix-matched it with studded belt, denim jacket ;D

I just love it when it comes to Friday as my office allows the employees to wear informal outfits :D so i wore a simple vintage floral top and jeans this week. pardon the monkey toes :S

then i went to a nearest mall after hours to watch the quite thrilling ORPHAN and managed to step into a new clothing store which sells these cool thingies!!! such as handbags made by real shells but unfortunately those cost fortune!!! and i found the reasonable-priced purple pants,, which i already targeted to hit on my next payday :D

Actually I have never worn a light blue eyeliner to go outside… as I think it’s very bright… bought the LA Splash colored eyeliners several weeks ago when I got so bored with the plain black one, but have never dared to put on the light blue one :P however, I guess it is more suitable to wear them at night rather than on broad daylight :S I also never wear eye shadows… eyeliners r just enough for me…:D

I’m now in the middle of another boring hours at work until suddenly the images of Paradise Islands in Raja Ampat, West Papua which is located in the very eastern part of my country came up to my mind…hopefully, I will be able to visit this earth heaven before I die, Amin….*wish myself luck :P according to a number of people who had visited Raja Ampat, the islands were barely touched due to difficult access to get there…Papua consists of mountains and the signs of modern civilization has not scattered really well in every corner of it, small aero planes become very crucial to transport to every district, thus no wonder parts of its coast remain difficult to reach and the trip to Papua needs a lot of money. I say congrats to people who managed to get to Raja Ampat :D now i'm drooling when i see these pics...

THE WOMEN is a total must watch!! of course for women, ladies, girls, watever..:P u will find many character of females/women such as gossiper, control freak, fashionista, mother, lesbian, etc.. in the movie.. i just realized in like half of the movie that this movie was only starred by women!! all about women... meg ryan, annete bening, jada pinkett smith, debra messing, eva mendez.. i can't tell u how it ended but it ended very very sweet, touching.. OMG u guys really have to watch this.. either entertaining and inspiring...aawww... :D

the movie was about the FBI efforts to capture old skool bank robber gang led by Johnny Dillinger, played by Johnny Depp. It was really thrilling to watch especially if u like action movies. this one was so old skool in a good way.. i like how Dillinger managed to escape even the strictest police custody. Dillinger could be hot and cool at the same time..salute to Johnny Depp ;P. who doesnt adore him anyway:P but i also had a crush on agent winstead, one of the old FBI agents who died hard in the movie and finally shot Johnny Dillinger to death..

i went to the mall today and i stepped into the stores of Zara, Gap, Mango, Camper, etc as many stores in town have their big big sales starting yesterday and will end on August... but my payday will be on next friday... so today i went to go surveying the price of some heels..but Zara got my most attention as their stuffs are just cooll :D especially their vintage ankle and gladiator heels....honestly i have no hi-heel shoes at all, coz i have been less interested in such kinda shoes, i preferred to wear flats or sneakers as i used to be very tomboy, but in the last one year i began to put attention to those ankle heels :P i think it is the coolest model of heels... but i did not want to buy a pair of shoes with low quality so i would sacrifice a bit part of my salary to buy one good pair!!! hopefully i'll own one on August..

Damn…. At least nine foreigners were killed as two bombs just exploded in Ritz Carlton and JW Marriot Hotel this morning… and both are located at the same regency as where I live South Jakarta… F%$# whoever done it.. police suspect it was suicide bomb.. and just an hour ago.. a bomb car exploded at north jakarta toll road, two were found killed!! Story is developing now..

I feel so sorry for the innocent victims………….heart goes out for u….

a friend from Australia sent me some local yeast extract spread called Vegemite and a chocolate called AERO just like the last delivery she got me on my birthday, but they have yet to be on my hands now.. because the bureaucracy at the post office in my country complicated the process of me receiving the packet.. :( i'm just afraid the chocolate would melt the day i receive it.. however, in the previous chocolate delivery before i moved to the city---had lived in a city with better air quality than jakarta--they miraculously didn't melt!!! for sure :D
